I'm excited to launch America's Golden Music™ which in addition to posts will become a podcast!
America's Golden Music™ are the nine genres of music that originated in the USA South: FOLK, GOSPEL, BLUES, BLUEGRASS, ROCK, JAZZ, R&B, COUNTRY and CAROLINA BEACH. Actually it could be ten since the first OPERA was performed in Charleston, South Carolina.
I have grown up loving music: singing in the Riverside Presbyterian Church choir in my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida; playing my first Sears Silverstone guitar followed by a Gibson; working as a teenager at Hoyt's High Fidelity; becoming a rock DJ in the mid 1960s, and co-founding the Southern Music Hall of Fame.
Now at 80 years young I'm returning to my love of music especially these nine genres mentioned above.
